Jesus..Tabernacle, Temple, High Priest and Sacrifice...

Jesus and the Tabernacle

Tabernacle is a moving tent, where God met the Israel and dwelt among them. The presence of God is manifest in visible way in the Tabernacle. The true mark of people of God is the presence of God in their lives, Mark of a Christian is presence of God through his Spirit (Rom 8:9) in every believer manifests. Word became flesh and tabernacled pitched his tent (σκηνόω) among us. Lord Jesus was the manifest God in flesh and the very meeting place with God - He that has seen me has seen the father (John 14:9), He that hath Son has the Father also. The knowledge of Glory of God in the face of Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus and the Temple

"Zeal of your house will consume me" may all his disciples be reminded, following that the extraordinary statement by our Lord which are mis-understood by the people of his time that "Destroy the temple (ναός) and I will build it in 3 days" - John 2: 19. He was speaking of temple of his body his listeners thought of the physical temple, they even tried to use it against our Lord during the trail before Caiaphas (Matt 26:61). God is bigger than the temple, How can God of Gods and Lord of Lords can dwell in space and time in Jerusalem in the temple, Solomon (I Kings 8:27 ) , Paul (Acts 17:24 ) and Augustine in his confessions all confirm this fact. Body of Christ is Temple - infact he is greater than the temple (Matt 12:6). In Christ all fullness of God dwelt bodily. Temple is where all Gods people met with God - Christ is where all people meet with God - there is no other way - No one comes to the father but my me - John 14:6.

Jesus the High Priest

Jesus the High Priest in order of Melchizedek, Priest (ἱερεύς) forever, Lord Jesus like Melchizedek is a king of righteousness and peace. The words spoke of our Lord Jesus in Psalm 110:4 are fulfilled. The High Priest Lord Jesus Christ holy, innocent, unstained, set apart from sinners, entered the Most holy place not made with human hands that is heaven and is performing the high priestly duty sitting at the right hand of the father interceding for us (Romans 8:34, Hebrews 8:1, I John 2:1). Aaron priest hood is for limited time, hindered by death, but our High Priest, who did not have to offer for his sins first, pure, unblemished is unhindered by death and and his priest hood remains forever.

Jesus the sacrifice

Behold the Lamb of God - John1:29. How appropriate for the Lamb of God to be born in the cattle shed, laid in the manger. In the temple of his body, as a high Priest, he offered the sacrifice of himself - Galatians 2:20 - He loved and gave himself for me. He offered himself, involuntarily, without pressure or without compulsion, he understood and prayed that his will be done in the Garden of Gethsemane. Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice (θυσία) to God (Eph 5:2). This my body that is broken for you (1 Corinthians 11:24, Matt 26:26 - His blood that is shed for remissions of sins of many (Matt 26:27)

in Christ
